Facilitation

Better conversations create better organisations

The most important organisational issues are rarely solved by another presentation.

They require people to think together, listen properly, address what is getting in the way and make clear decisions about what happens next. Renée designs and facilitates leadership, team and governance conversations that build clarity, connection and collective responsibility.

Renée Walker facilitating an audience conversation

More than someone who runs the agenda

Effective facilitation requires more than good timekeeping and colourful sticky notes. It requires the confidence to read the room, recognise what is not being said, challenge unhelpful dynamics and keep people connected to the purpose of the conversation. Renée’s approach combines executive experience, strong group facilitation, behavioural insight, warmth and the willingness to name what matters.

Facilitation for the conversations that matter

Executive and leadership team alignment

For teams needing greater clarity about purpose, priorities, roles, relationships and collective accountability.

Possible focus areas include: defining leadership team purpose; clarifying roles and decision rights; strengthening trust and communication; agreeing leadership behaviours; working through tension or change; building collective rather than individual leadership.

Leadership and culture development

For organisations seeking to strengthen the everyday experience of leadership and culture.

Possible focus areas include: defining the culture you need; connecting values with observable behaviour; building leadership capability; understanding behavioural and communication styles; improving connection, mattering and belonging; strengthening accountability without losing humanity.

Board and governance facilitation

For boards wanting greater clarity, alignment and effectiveness.

Possible focus areas include: defining governance success; board and management relationships; roles, expectations and accountabilities; board culture and ways of working; strategy and organisational purpose; leadership succession and chief executive support.

Strategy and purpose sessions

For organisations needing to reconnect with why they exist and determine what matters most.

Possible focus areas include: purpose and strategic direction; stakeholder and community impact; priority setting; translating strategy into action; creating shared ownership across the organisation.

Behavioural and communication style workshops

For teams wanting to understand themselves and each other better. These sessions help people recognise different behavioural styles, communication preferences and working patterns, so they can reduce friction and build stronger relationships.

Possible focus areas include: understanding behavioural styles; communicating across difference; reducing assumptions and misinterpretation; building stronger working relationships; improving team trust and collaboration.

How the process works

Before the session

Renée works with the sponsor to understand the context, desired outcomes, participants and any dynamics that need to be considered. This may include reviewing existing material, speaking with key stakeholders or designing a session around a particular organisational challenge.

During the session

Renée creates enough structure to keep the conversation productive and enough flexibility to respond to what emerges. The goal is not simply to get through an agenda. The goal is to help the group have the conversation it genuinely needs to have.

After the session

Where agreed, Renée provides a concise summary of decisions, themes, commitments and next steps.

Warm, structured and willing to challenge

Renée creates spaces where people feel safe enough to contribute and challenged enough to be honest.
